Refund policy

We want you to be happy with your Better Half Journal. If something isn’t right, we’ll do our best to help.

1. Change-of-Mind Returns

We offer a 30-day change-of-mind return policy from the date you receive your order.

To be eligible for a change-of-mind return:

  • The journal must be unused and in resalable condition
  • Packaging (including the belly band/cover wrap) must be intact and undamaged
  • You’ll need your order number or proof of purchase

Change-of-mind returns are at your own postage cost.

Please note: If a refund is approved, the donated journal associated with your order may be paused, cancelled, or reallocated at our discretion.

2. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If your journal arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • A brief description of the issue
  • Clear photos showing the problem

If approved, we will either:

  • Replace the item at no cost, or
  • Provide a refund, depending on stock availability and your preference.

In these cases, we will provide a return label where possible, or cover reasonable return shipping costs.

3. How to Request a Return

To request a return, email us at josh@betterhalfjournal.com with:

  • Your full name
  • Order number
  • Reason for return
  • Photos (if the item is faulty or damaged)

If your return is accepted, we’ll provide:

  • Return instructions
  • A return address (and, where applicable, a return label)

Items sent back to us without first contacting us may not be accepted.

4. Non-Returnable Items

We cannot accept returns for:

  • Journals that are used, written in, or marked
  • Gift cards
  • Items marked “final sale” at the time of purchase

Donated Journals (B1G1 Program)

Journals donated through our Buy One, Give One model — whether gifted directly by the purchaser or received via one of our charity partners — are not eligible for returns or refunds.
Once a donated journal leaves our facility, we cannot verify how it has been stored, handled, or transported, and we are unable to process returns for these copies.

If your donated journal arrives damaged, please contact the distributing charity to discuss replacement options.

5. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll email you to confirm whether your refund has been approved.

If approved:

  • Refunds are issued to your original payment method
  • Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to appear (bank processing times vary)
